Where to find stylish stock photography for your brand

High quality photography plays a key role in communicating a cohesive brand story and identity. But, sometimes it can feel out of reach due to financial, time, or physical restrictions.

These sites are great resources for finding top quality, artistic, stylish, and non-cheesy(!) stock photographs fit for commercial use. Sometimes I visit them just to dream up the brands I’d love to work on while using their images!

Pexels

Free

Easily my favourite source for free stock imagery when working with clients on a budget, Pexels offers a huge variety of free premium-quality stock photos and video. For me, the greatest feature is the diversity in photography styles and subject matter.

Death to Stock

Paid

Death to Stock provides members with the authentic stock photos and videos; with unlimited downloads and new work added every month. Their unique stock library is ideal for brands who are seeking trend-forward visuals that avoid the tropes of classically cheesy stock photography.

Stocksy

Paid

Another paid stock photo platform, Stocksy’s collection of art-forward photography is ideal for brands working with a decent budget who aren’t yet ready to invest in their own shoot. A key USP of this platform the option to purchase a ‘market freeze’ on some images. This means that no other brands can use a specific image for a set period of time.

Unsplash

Free

Unsplash is a gem for free stock photos fit for a variety of industries. Beauty and food & beverage brands in particular will find a multitude of professional images that will help to take the visual presentation of their brand to the next level.
